After last week’s Petya virus it seems normal operations have all but resumed for Maersk and TNT; the two major players in the freight industry affected by the attack.
Its reported up to 80 ports had been impacted by the outages. Maersk’s booking systems had been severely disrupted, only resuming 3 days later with the help of a third-party provider.
TNTs operations seemed to be contained to only a few countries and is resuming regular operations.
The freight industry is increasingly vulnerable as the scope of automation increases and this recent attack serves as a reminder to remain vigilant and focused on digital security.
